Hello! My name is Victoria Hartson. I’m a Communications Professional with advanced, graduate-level skills in Atlanta, GA.

I have a background in social media management, graphic design, cinematography, and video editing.

My Professional Background

I’ve done a variety of jobs across the field of communication, starting with designing a program and promotional materials as the Theatre Publicity Assistant at Bryn Mawr College. I worked as the Social Media Coordinator at Perinatal Associates of San Antonio for a year and a half, starting their social media presence from scratch, creating a content strategy, and building up a platform with hundreds of followers. I interned with People’s History in Texas, an oral history nonprofit that focuses on telling lesser-known stories in Texas history, for a year, filming interviews as well as writing and editing short-form content. I was a Graphic Design Intern at the Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin, Texas in Spring 2023, creating signage and designing merchandise.

My Academic Background

I started my undergraduate degree at Bryn Mawr College, pursuing a B.A. in Gender & Sexuality Studies. After my junior year, I took a year and a half off to work a professional job. I then transferred to The University of Texas at Austin, where my degree path changed names (Women’s and Gender Studies). I’m now a graduate student pursuing a Masters of Science in Strategic Communication at Agnes Scott College.

I began studying film in high school, taking four years of digital cinema classes. I directed multiple award-winning films, and was given the opportunity to go to New York for the All-American High School Film Festival and make a film there for their NYC Film Invitational. Since then, I have used these skills in various ways, from filming interviews to full-length theatre productions, and have continued freelance video editing in my free time.

My Interests and Values

In my free time, I’m an avid lover of theatre, having acted both in college and professionally. I’m a firm supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, which was a key factor in choosing to study gender and sexuality for my undergraduate degree. More casually, I love science fiction, hiking, and cats.
